Prayer to the Preëminent Apostle Peter
O holy Peter, great apostle, eyewitness and co-initiate of the mysteries of God, who by the almighty right hand of thy Teacher wast drawn from the tempestuous waters of the sea and wast freed from drowning utterly! Forget us not who are sunk in the mire of sin and are buffeted by the waves of the sea of life. Grant us thy mighty hand; save and keep us from being engulfed by passions, lusts, falsehoods and slanders. Treat us with the mercy shown thee by the Lord, lest we perish amid doubt and scant faith. O our teacher, teach us to shed tears of repentance, that we may weep bitterly for our deeds in this age. And if thy Lord and Teacher covered thy tears, shed in repentance, with His mercy, with apostolic boldness ask for us forgiveness of the sins we commit at every hour. May we live a life peaceful and undisturbed in this world until the hour when the Lord of eternity, our impartial Judge, will summon us. O most lauded apostle, reject not the cries and groaning we direct to thee, but help us as thou standest before Christ, thy Teacher, that we may unceasingly glorify the loving-kindness He showeth us with the Father and the Holy Spirit, unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O great and holy Apostle Paul! Reject me not, nor my groaning to thee. Look down upon me who find myself amid sickness and grief, and ask of Christ, thy Teacher, [here state the purpose of your petition], that I may unceasingly glorify the loving-kindness He showeth us with the Father and the Holy Spirit, unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O holy Apostles Peter and Paul, depart not in spirit from us, the sinful servants of God, lest we be utterly separated from the love of God; but by your mighty aid defend us, that the Lord may treat our supplications with mercy for your sake, that He may rend asunder the record of our boundless sins, and vouchsafe unto us, with all the saints, the blessed kingdom and the wedding feast of His Lamb, to Whom be honor and glory, thanks and worship, unto the ages of ages. Amen.
