Prayers to Our Righteous Mother Matrona

Icon of Saint Matrona of Moscow

Prayer I

O blessed Mother Matrona, hearken now and accept us sinners who entreat thee, who throughout thy whole life wast wont to receive and listen to all who suffered and were troubled who had recourse to thine aid and help with faith and love, and givest speedy assistance and miraculous healing unto all, that even now thy loving-kindness may not fail for us, the unworthy, who are caught up in the tumult of this most vainglorious world and nowhere find consolation and compassion amid the sorrows of our souls and help amid the ailments of our bodies: heal our sicknesses, deliver us from temptations and the tyranny of the devil who wageth terrible warfare upon us; help us to bear the cross of our life, to endure all of life's burdens, that we might not lose the image of God therein, but may preserve the Orthodox Faith until the end of our days and have a mighty hope in God and unfeigned love for our neighbor; help us after our departure from this life to reach the kingdom of heaven with all who have been pleasing unto God, glorifying the loving-kindness and goodness of the heavenly Father Who is worshiped in Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer II

O blessed mother Matrona, who standest in soul before the throne of God in heaven, but restest on earth in thy body, pouring forth divers miracles by the grace given thee from on high! Look down now with thine eye upon us sinners, who have wasted our days in troubles, pangs and sinful temptations. Comfort us, the despairing; heal our grievous ailments, which are given us by God because of our sins; deliver us from many tribulations and evil circumstances; beseech our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us all our offenses, iniquities and sinful falls, whereby we have sinned from our youth even to the present day and hour: that having received grace and great mercy by thy supplications, we may glorify the one God in Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
