Prayer to the Holy Olga the Great, Princess of Russia & Equal of the Apostles
Share

O holy great princess Olga, equal of the apostles, first saint of Russia, fervent mediatress and intercessor for us! We flee to thee with faith and pray with love: Be thou a helper and aide for us in all that is for our good, and as in this transitory life thou didst strive to enlighten our forefathers with the light of the Holy Faith and to instruct them to do the will of the Lord, so now also, abiding in the radiance of heaven, by thy supplications which are right pleasing to God assist us in the enlightenment of our heart and mind with the light of the Gospel of Christ, that we may prosper in faith, piety and Christian love. Comfort those who find themselves in poverty and tribulation, extend a helping hand unto the those in peril, help those who are oppressed and sorely tried, reprove those who have strayed from the straight path and have been blinded by heresies, and ask for us of the most compassionate God all things good and profitable for this transitory life and that which is everlasting, that, having thus lived here in a manner pleasing unto God, we may be counted worthy to inherit eternal bliss in the never-ending kingdom of Christ our God, to Whom, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, is due all glory, honor and worship, always, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Thou art our greatness and boast, O divinely wise Olga; for it is through thee that we have been freed from the falsehood of idolatry and have been drawn by holy baptism to the Faith of Christ. Thou hast been revealed to men as a pure instructor in the law and a teacher of the Christian Faith. Accept, therefore, this praise from us, unworthy though we are, who bow down before thy precious icon and humbly ask that, by thy supplications and help, we may be freed from temptations, tribulations, grief and grievous sins. And from the torments which are to come deliver us also, who cherish thy holy memory with honor and glorify God Who hath glorified thee, Who is worshiped in the Holy Trinity—the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit—now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
