O holy Joasaph, hierarch of Christ, wonderworker of Belgorod! We, the sinful and unworthy, believe that the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His ears are inclined to their supplication; and therefore we have recourse to thy prayers and ask thy mediation for us, trusting in the word of the Apostle, that thy love will never fail. In our sins and sicknesses we have likened ourselves to smoking flax and a bruised reed; and if we are alive, we live by the mercy of God and for the sake of the supplications of His righteous ones. Wherefore, incline thou thy heart to our supplication, O righteous father, and by thine intercession grant peace and blessing from the Lord to the Christian race. Strengthen Orthodoxy, and repel the assaults of the wicked and iniquitous against the Church of God. Beseech the heavenly Father, that we be delivered from the incursions of the enemy, from civil strife and the tumults of the nations, from fire, flood and other misfortunes and evil circumstances. Of Christ God ask thou strength for our souls, the health which our bodies require, and the healing of illnesses: that the lame might walk, that the blind might see, strength for the paralyzed, consolation for the grieving and deliverance from all sorrows. Those branches which have fallen away from the vine of Christ do thou reunite with it, as thou thyself wast counted worthy to have a share therein, that through thee the all-honored and majestic name of our God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—may thus be glorified now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
