Prayer to the Holy Hierarch Demetrius of Rostov

O most blessed and holy hierarch Demetrius, great favorite of Christ, Chrysostom of Russia! Hearken unto us sinners who pray to thee, and bear our supplication up to the merciful God Who loveth mankind, before Whom thou dost now stand with the angelic choirs in the joy of the saints. Beseech His lovingkindness, that He not condemn us according to our iniquities, but that He deal with us according to His mercy. Ask for us from Christ our God a peaceful and undisturbed life, health of soul and body, fruitfulness for the earth, every abundance in all things, and length of days; and that we not turn to evil the good things given us by our compassionate God, but rather to His glory and to the glorification of thine aid. Grant that we may pass through the course of this transitory life in a God-pleasing manner; deliver us from the aerial stations, and guide us to the path which leadeth to the habitations of the righteous, where the cries are without ceasing of those who keep festival and behold the ineffable beauty of the face of God. Preserve the Holy Church from heresies and schisms, strengthen the faithful, return those who are lost, and unto all grant all things which are suitable for salvation and the glory of God. Preserve thy homeland unassailed by enemies, and grant us all thine archpastoral and holy blessing, that, overshadowed thereby, we may be delivered from the wiles of the evil one and may escape all misfortune and peril. Hearken unto our supplication, O father  Demetrius, and in our behalf unceasingly entreat Almighty God, Who is worshipped and  glorified in three Hypostases: to Whom is due all glory, honor and dominion, unto the ages of ages.
