Prayer to Our Venerable Father Chariton

O sacred one, venerable father, all-blessed Abba Chariton! Forget not thy wretched servants utterly, but remember us always in thy holy and right acceptable prayers to God. Be mindful of the flock that thou didst shepherd, and forget not to visit thy children. Pray for us, thy spiritual children, O sacred father, for thou hast boldness before the King of heaven. Be not silent concerning us before the Lord, and disdain us not, the unworthy, who honor thee with faith and love. At the throne of the Almighty remember us, and never cease to pray for us to Christ God, for thou hast been given the grace to make supplication in our behalf. For we do not think of thee as dead, even though thou hast departed from us in body, but as remaining alive even after death. Depart not from us in spirit, fending off from us the arrows of the enemy, every delusion of the demons and the wiles of the devil, O our good shepherd. For knowing that thou art truly alive after death, we fall down before thee and beseech thee: Pray for us to God Almighty for the good of our souls, and ask for us time for repentance, that we may pass unhindered from earth to heaven, that we may be delivered from the bitter toll-houses, the demons and aerial princes, and that we may become heirs of the kingdom of heaven with all the righteous who from ages past have been pleasing to our Lord Jesus Christ, to Whom is due all glory, honor and worship, with His unoriginate Father and His all-holy, good and life-creating Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
