Prayer before the Icon of the All-holy Theotokos, the Softener of Evil Hearts

 much-suffering Mother of God, who hast surpassed all the daughters of the earth in thy purity and in the multitude of the sufferings thou didst endure on earth: Accept our most painful sighs, and keep us beneath the shelter of thy mercy, for we know none other refuge and fervent intercession than thee. As thou hast boldness before Him to Whom thou gavest birth, help and save us by thy supplications, that without hindrance we may attain unto the kingdom of heaven, where with all the saints we shall hymn the one God in Trinity, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
